Standing with Anglican Partners in Sri Lanka

Web Statement

April 25, 2019

Episcopal Relief & Development stands in solidarity with the Anglican Church of Ceylon after the Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka.

Episcopal Relief & Development is in regular contact with the dioceses of Colombo and Kurunegala in Sri Lanka as they assess the next steps for their communities. Currently, the dioceses are involved in an interfaith dialogue and are coordinating their own emergency response such as clothing, pastoral support and assistance with funerals. Episcopal Relief & Development stands ready to support the dioceses as long-term response efforts are determined.

Please continue to pray for all affected by the bombings in Sri Lanka.

Prayer On the Occasion of a Disaster

Compassionate God… Draw near to us in this time of sorrow and anguish, comfort those who mourn, strengthen those who are weary, encourage those in despair, and lead us all to fullness of life; through the same Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen
