Episcopalians are invited to mark Episcopal Relief & Development Sunday on March 5, the first Sunday in Lent, with special prayers, bulletin inserts and a dedicated offering to support the organization’s mission of healing a hurting world. An annual Lenten tradition in The Episcopal Church, Episcopal Relief & Development Sunday is an opportunity for congregations to focus on prayer and action to address global needs.

This special online toolkit includes links to order printed booklets from the Episcopal Marketplace, download a PDF copy or sign up for daily emails. Other featured resources include hope chests, pew envelopes, bulletin inserts and special prayers.

Episcopal Relief & Development welcomes four new members to its Board of Directors: The Rt. Rev. Mary Gray-Reeves (Diocese of El Camino Real), The Rt. Rev. Wilfrido Ramos Orench (Diocese of Puerto Rico), Mark D. Constantine (Diocese of Southern Virginia) and Meg L. DeRonghe (Diocese of Olympia).

Episcopal Relief & Development and its Ghanaian partner ADDRO (the Anglican Diocesan Development and Relief Organization) are working with UK-based Against Malaria Foundation (AMF) to distribute more than 2.6 million mosquito nets in Ghana.

Through the end of December, Episcopalians and friends are invited to participate in Episcopal Relief & Development’s 2016 Holiday Matching Gift Challenge. With generous support from a group of exceptionally committed donors, gifts to any listed fund during this time will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $500,000. The match amount benefits the Global Needs Fund, sending help where it is most needed to fight poverty, hunger, disease and disasters worldwide.
